Mantras Utilizados en Clase

Un mantra es una palabra o grupo de palabras en sánscrito.  Los mantras se recitan un determinado número de veces y debido a su construcción, significado y ritmo, poseen la capacidad de concentrar y elevar la mente. 

Los mantras se originaron durante el período Védico en la India.  Estos se caracterizan porque comienzan con la palabra Om.  Tiempo después, los mantras se convirtieron en una parte esencial de la tradición Hinduista y una práctica común dentro del Budismo, Siquismo y Yainismo.  El uso de los mantras se ha distribuido abiertamente a través de varios movimientos espirituales. 

Los mantras se recitan por varias intenciones.  Entre ellas se encuentra el liberar la mente de ilusiones erróneas e inclinaciones materiales.  Al comenzar y terminar la clase recitamos mantras para calmar la mente y para recordarnos que los efectos beneficios del yoga van mucho más allá del aspecto físico.
